Raccoon River Valley Trail
Raccoon River Valley Trail
The Raccoon River Valley Trail is one of Iowa’s premier trails that has earned national recognition. Built on old rail lines, this trail is flat and fun.
The trail hosts the Market to Market Relay and The Bacoon Ride that both go through Redfield.
The Racoon River Valley Trail is an 89 mile trail with 72-mile interior loop, and a surface of concrete and asphalt. The original trail was from Clive to Jefferson, passing through Waukee, Adel, REDFIELD, Lindon, Panora, Yale, Herndon, and Cooper.
The trailhead is on the south end of town. During the summer months on Saturday and Sunday’s community volunteers open a canteen for bike riders at the beautifully restored train depot.
